What happened next... Sep 14, 2012

So yeah, this lady is standing next to her car obviously trying to calm down and straighten up. She smooths out her dress, runs her fingers through her hair, and takes some deep breaths. Then she walks over to her trunk and pops it open. As it's opening, she glances around a bit. I don't want to say furtively, because she made it look innocent enough. But as soon as she saw me, she hesitated for just a heartbeat, closed her trunk without getting anything out, and walks up to the house without looking back.

By the way, you should know what the lady looked like. She definitely had a "mom" vibe about her. Old enough to be one of my friend's moms, though one of the younger ones, and that look about her that says she's used to bossing her kids around. She was wearing a dress that was blue, I think. Or orange. Crap, I can't remember. Forget the dress. Suffice it to say, she was dressed. Two arms, two legs, hair, etc. Unfortunately, I'm crap at remembering details.

Anyway, she walks up to the house and knocks a couple of times, waits with her hand still up like she forgot what she was doing for a second, then she knocks again. The door opens a bit, and I kid you not, the lights inside glowed yellow. Not the yellow like most lights put out, but this bright, flickering yellow. Not flickering like flames, but flickering like... I don't know, like lights are turning on and off in different rooms or something.

The Other Day... Sep 14, 2012

So, the other day I was walking home from school. It's a short walk, about 1/2 a mile, through neighborhood streets. Anyway, just as I walk past this driveway, a car comes screeching out of it. I mean, flying out in reverse like they're in a spy movie being chased by the bad guys. They flip into the street, and peel out of there. I look at the house, but didn't see anything odd; nary an assassin in sight, so I walked on.

Well, just around the next corner, only like a quarter mile away, I see the same car pulled in front of another house, with a woman standing net to the drivers side, like she just got out and is trying to put herself back together, so she doesn't look like she just drove over here like she was in the car chase scene of an action movie.
